CFB Petawawa offers a wide range of swimming classes and instruction for all ages and skill levels. All your aquatic needs can be found at Dundonald Hall. 613-687-5511 ext. 7946
Welcomes all skill levels and offers lessons to beginners. We cater to family and single shooters. Our facilities and the practice range are available year-round. 613-687-0635
The Petawawa Civic Centre Arena has ice times available for one time rentals and season rentals for groups looking to start a league. 613-687-5678 ext. 23
Badminton club for ages 16 years of age and older. Both male and female players, beginners to advanced are welcome! 613-687-6742

Baseball/Softball

Ladies Slo-pitchAll women 17 years and up are encouraged to join. Games are played a the lighted Civic Centre diamonds adjacent to the Mini-Putt, snack bar and washrooms. A playground a library are on site to encourage you to bring your whole family along. League starts in May and Runs through September. Games run on Mondays and Wednesdays. If you would like to add a new team to the league or become a player call 613-687-9299.
Men's Slo-pitchEveryone is welcome. Come out an join an existing team or register a team of your own. Games are played at the Civic Centre's two lighted diamonds on Tuesdays. 613-732-4000
Mixed Slo-pitchThe mixed slo-pitch league is a recreational league playing games each Thursday and Sunday night at the Civic Centre. The season runs May through August. To register call 613-687-5157.

This group of individuals organizes a tournament in mid-August at the Indians Diamond in Petawawa. 613-687-5481 Petawawa Minor Ball All kids ages 4 to 16 are welcome to come out and enjoy the fun of amateur ball. 613-735-1518

Petawawa and area offers a number of cross-country skiing locations for outdoor enthusiasts. In the centre of Town, experience the Petawawa Terrace - an Ontario Provincial Park with groomed trails. 613-687-5678 ext. 23 Jubilee Lodge, located at CFB Petawawa, offers several trails as well as ski and snowshoe rentals. 613-687-5511 ext. 5180 Forest Lea trails, located in Laurentian Valley, offers various trails for all skill levels.
The Town of Petawawa has three soccer pitches and three baseball diamonds on the Civic Centre site, as well as three baseball diamonds located off-site. For rental information and bookings call 613-687-5678 ext. 23.
The Petawawa Skating Club provides skating instruction for junior, intermediate and senior figure skaters throughout the year. Regular season at the Petawawa Civic Centre runs from October through March. 613-735-5266
Nestled a the corner of Biesenthal Rd. and Achray Rd. in the Town of Petawawa, Roanoke Golf Club is an 18 hole, par 72, semi-private course measuring 6,000 yards. Suitable for walking or cart rental, Roanoke offers a challenging mix of par 3 to par 5 holes with bunkers, dog-legs and tree-lined, well-groomed fairways. 613-735-4444
The Twin Rivers Golf Club is a full 18 hole course and a member of the Ottawa Valley Golf Association with a registered CPGA pro. Twin Rivers Golf Club boasts a driving range and putting green, cart rentals and refreshments. Monthly, annual and half-year memberships are available with a pro shop, clubhouse, amenities and full banquet facilities on site. 613-687-8294
The Petawawa Kids in Action Gymnastics Club operates out of Dundonald Hall and caters to children and adults. Qualified coaches allow for safe and fun participation at either the recreational or competitive level. Have fun, get some exercise and meet new people. 613-735-4937

Petawawa is home to a wide range of men's and women's leagues for all ages and skill levels. Petawawa is also home to the Greater Petawawa Minor Hockey Association.

Other Activities

The Horticultural Society is a group of amateur gardeners always looking for ways to improve their gardening skills and their gardens. The group meets every 2nd Monday at 7pm (except for July & August) at the Petawawa Civic Centre. New members or visitors are always welcome to drop in to see what the club is all about. 613-687-5435
Offer the best climbing in the valley. Twenty foot high walls offer many diverse routes to challenge beginner through expert climber. 613-687-5159
Petawawa River Rats Kayak Club is volunteer based and meets all year round. It is a great way to meet kayakers, serving as a support group once you have developed the adrenaline addiction. Volunteers and new members are always welcome. 613-687-6761
Perfect for those adults who either want to learn how to swim or continue to enjoy the water and want to do more than just swim up and down the pool. Sessions have a workout with a purpose whether it is technical, focused on endurance or learning something completely new. 613-687-5042
Our mandate is to provide sports training and competition for individuals with an intellectual or physical disability through community-based programs. 613-735-5343
Rugby Club is open to all. No experience needed. We have both a women's and men's team playing in the Eastern Ontario Rugby League. If you're 16 and over come and join us to play some rugby. Indoor practices start in February with the season beginning in May. Referees, coaches and rugby enthusiasts are all welcome to contact us. 613-687-6109

Located at Mount Molson Ski Hill on Laurentian Drive (near Civic Centre Road), the hill is used for recreational skiing and ski instruction and is serviced by a poma lift. Ski School Director is Level 3 CSIA/Level 1 CSCF. Cross country enthusiasts can put on their skis at the club chalet and enjoy the Civic Centre trails and the Petawawa Terrace Provincial Park trails adjoining Mount Molson. The Petawawa (Civitan) Tennis Club offers a full range of tennis activities for beginners to competitive. Emphasis is on recreation and social competition and members can choose to participate at their own level of play. 613-687-9204
The Town of Petawawa offers ultimate frisbee, a fast-paced, non-contact sport that is open to all ages and skill levels. Runs from August to October. 613-687-5678 ext. 22
This is Provincial level volleyball open to all males and females, ages of 12 and 18. 613-401-6679

Programs

 

CFB Petawawa PSP offers several aquatic programs at the Dundonal Hall facility, from children's programs to lessons and classes. Participate in programs such as aquafit, aquasquirts, red cross swimming lessons, synchro as well as courses including bronze medallion, instructors and life guarding. Or choose to go at your own pace at one of the public swims.
The RecPlex houses a full size gymnasium and aerobic studio, teen room, preschool play rooms and meeting rooms. The RecPlex is home to numerous CFB Petawawa clubs as well, from the Karate Club to the Preschool Clubs to the Indoor Rock Climbing Club.
The South Side Community Centre offers similar facilities and services to another area of the Petawawa community. The combination of Recreation Services, Family Military Resource Services and Canex Shopping make this facility the ideal "one-stop-shopping" building.
The Petawawa Public Library offers various children's programs including storytime, paws to read, crazy fun event nights, craft days, page eaters, early literacy programs, reading buddies and several special events. Register for children's programs at the library or call 613-687-2227.
Kindermusik offers music and movement classes for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers at the Petawawa Library and Deep River Community Pool.
The Petawawa Civic Centre offers senior/family skate Wednesday and Friday from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm as well as a Public Skate every Sunday from 1:00 to 2:30 pm.
The Silver Threads Seniors Club of Petawawa was formed in 1978. The club welcomes individuals aged 50+ to enjoy fun and fellowship with other seniors in the Petawawa area. The club currently has 400 members and is located on the top floor of the Lions Community Hall at 1163 Victoria Street. Elevator service is available. There are many weekly activities such as fitness, bridge, bingo, euchre, shuffleboard and various craft classes. Youth & Teens

Youth DancesVarious youth organizations host dances for Pre-Teens up to age 14, almost every Friday throughout the school year. Check the Town Clock for details or call 613-687-5678 ext.1
Boys & Girls ClubThe Boys & Girls Club of Pembroke has been serving the children and youth in our community for over 40 years. We offer both recreational and educational programs for children ages 6 to 18 and no youth is ever turned away. We are affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club of Ontario and Canada and adhere to their Mission Statement and Core Values
The GrindThe Grind is a local, non-profit organization, designed to provide structured special events for youth between the ages of 12 and 18. Events include concerts featuring local and touring bands, interactive discussions with guest speakers, organized evenings of free pool or bowling, summer leadership programs and much, much more! Each Grind event is fully supervised by adult volunteers and off-duty members from a collection of local emergency services.
Petawawa Youth CentreTeen Scene: Petawawa Youth Centre is located inside the South Side Community Centre. It is always buzzing with activity and provides a great place to socialize with your friends. Pre-teen nights are Monday and Thursday allowing access to 10+year-olds. On all other evenings, the centre is open to teens aged 13 to 18. The Teen Centre is accessible with your Community Access Card (TAC) for only $5 for 3 months. The TAC permits access only to the Youth Centre and the shared gymnasium. The Youth Activities Coordinator and Youth Centre Monitors oversee the centre. Although staffed, we rely heavily on volunteers. If you are enthusiastic and would like to enhance the lives of youth please call 613-687-2104 ext. 235.

June 16 to 19, 2011 Since 1981 the Petawawa community has been organizing exceptional recreational and social programming for the good of the area. Petawawa Civic Centre Days is an annual event starting the 2nd week of June.
July 1st, 2011 Celebrate and show your Canadian pride in Petawawa. Join in the celebration at Centennial Park and enjoy live music, interactive games for kids of all ages and kids at heart.
August 12th, 2011 Taste of the Valley is an exposition of local food, crafts and products that are produced by local residents. Taste of the Valley events are community events that help introduce both visitors and local residents to the many unique agricultural products available in the region.
August 19 to 21, 2011 Live music, mud and ribs! What else could you ask for? The Endless Summer Ribfest will have more to offer besides the four professional rib teams, all weekend live music and Festival of Mud. You can also take part in the Motorcycle SHow & SHine, family light show, corn roast, craft show, outdoor movie, bike park-pump track demos and Kids Zone. There is definitely something here for each member of the family!
September 23rd, 2011 An evening to allow your senses to experience a collaboration of wine and food from around the world, including: German, Thai, East Indian, Austrian & Lebanese. Your palate will be fused with the tastes of wines from all corners of the globe. Lose yourself in the culture through presentations of dance, exhibits of paintings, photography and music.
October 15th, 2011 Get your ghost or goblin costume on and your loot bag out. If you're under 12 years old and looking for a spook-tacular time this Halloween then you have to join in on the party! This is a free event featuring fun and games for children.
October 16th, 2011 A friendly, non-competitive race, the Fall Family Run features a 10k, 5k and children's 1k run. Come out and challenge yourself and help raise funds to be used to support local Renfrew County Active Living projects.
November 20th, 2011 Whether you want to watch all the great floats and entertainment or enter a float of your own in the parade, come out and show your Christmas spirit. Be a part of Petawawa's Santa Claus Parade.
December 4th, 2011 The Christmas Craft Show features local artisans and business showcasing various hand-crafted gifts, crafts and various other specialities. Find that unique gift for that special someone in your life. Buy a great handmade gift for a family member or friend and support local business.
December 31st, 2011 Celebrate the New Year's Eve countdown at the Petawawa Civic Centre. A free event for the whole family includes: free skating, dog sledding, horse-drawn sleigh rides, live entertainment and a family dance to count in the New Year. From 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
January 13th to 22nd, 2012} Just as it can't get any colder and you know spring is just around the corner, Petawawa's Cabin Fever event gets you out and moving with Yuk Yuks and Saturday Night Dance, Snow Drag races, Touch of Frost (food & wine) and much more for the whole family.
